The Research Office’s recent study reinforced past surveys, showing that lack of time in engaging research activities continue to be the primary obstacle preventing faculty from conducting research due to teaching overloads. This is not a problem limited to the academic community of St. Michaelโs College, as many universities, colleges, and schools both locally and internationally have faced this daunting challenge (Smith, 2021; Garcia, 2022).
In response to this challenge, Research Camp is proposed and created to address the significant challenge of lack of time among faculty members in conducting research This will be crafted to create an environment where faculty members of different fields can collaborate, learn from one another, and share their knowledge and expertise.
